As the Lunar New Year festivities concluded, construction was already in full swing at the site of ND PAPER's 500,000-tonne annual chemical pulp project in the Ninghe Economic Zone. This initiative aims to replace wastepaper pulp in manufacturing processes.

A global leader in the papermaking industry, ND PAPER established its presence in the Ninghe Economic Zone in 2007 and has since become a key pillar enterprise for the region. In 2025, capitalizing on shifting market conditions and adjustments in industrial policy, the company officially launched two major projects: the 500,000-tonne chemical pulp project and a separate 900,000-tonne annual high-grade kraft/recycled paper manufacturing project. The total investment for these initiatives amounts to 4.5 billion yuan.

On February 28th, it was observed that five construction teams were working simultaneously on-site, with activities including piling, concrete pouring, and steel reinforcement progressing in an orderly manner. The civil construction for the 500,000-tonne chemical pulp project is now fully underway and is scheduled for completion and operational launch by the end of 2026. Meanwhile, the 900,000-tonne kraft/recycled paper project has completed its project approval phase. Work on the environmental impact assessment report and soil/water conservation evaluation is steadily advancing, with all preliminary procedures proceeding smoothly.

A representative from ND PAPER highlighted that these projects not only utilize over 1,000 mu of previously idle land within the plant area but also significantly enhance the company's environmental and innovation credentials. Upon commissioning, the production process will not require fresh water, will achieve 100% wastewater recycling with zero discharge, and will not increase energy consumption or pollutant emissions, enabling low-carbon and clean production. In terms of innovation, the projects incorporate world-class processing equipment and advanced technologies such as oscillating magnetic suspension, setting new international benchmarks for environmental and energy efficiency performance.

Authorities have committed to providing continuous policy support and service coordination to expedite the construction and operational timeline of these projects. By leveraging technological upgrades to advance traditional manufacturing towards higher-end and greener practices, the initiatives are expected to inject strong momentum into cultivating new quality productive forces and achieving high-quality development in the region.
