据知情人士透露，软银集团今年早些时候曾考虑收购美国芯片制造商Marvell，若交易成行，这将成为史上规模最大的半导体行业并购案。
消息称，软银创始人孙正义多年来将Marvell视为潜在目标，作为其押注人工智能硬件布局的一部分。数月前，软银曾与Marvell进行接洽，但双方未能就交易条款达成一致。
知情人士指出，软银原计划将Marvell与软银控制的芯片设计公司Arm合并。虽然目前双方并未就交易进行实质性谈判，但部分人士认为，软银未来可能重启兴趣。Marvell股价今年已下跌16%，公司市值约800亿美元；相比之下，英伟达、博通及Arm股价今年均显著上涨，Arm当前市值约1700亿美元。
