The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is working closely with the United States, World Bank, and Inter-American Development Bank to finalize an aid package for Argentina, according to IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.

Georgieva indicated that she expects a decision to be made soon regarding the assistance program.

One option under consideration involves the United States lending its Special Drawing Rights (SDR), which are IMF reserve assets, to Argentina, Georgieva noted.

"My biggest wish is to see Argentina become fully self-sufficient," she stated.
