NETDRAGON (00777) has announced a collaboration with its subsidiary, EDA (Thailand), to jointly promote a government-supported artificial intelligence (AI) initiative. This initiative aims to establish an AI-driven "Learn-to-Career" ecosystem, bridging the critical links between education, skills development, and productivity enhancement to help Thailand build a future-ready, competitive workforce. Recently launched in Bangkok, this cooperation underscores how, with increasing policy support from the Thai government, AI is not only serving educational purposes but is also becoming a key engine for workforce upgrading, enhancing economic competitiveness, and driving long-term productivity growth across industries. Leveraging EDA (Thailand)'s role as a local ecosystem builder and NETDRAGON's global expertise in AI-driven learning platforms and digital talent system development, the program is designed to address Thailand's key challenge: achieving large-scale talent cultivation and transformation in an era where AI is rapidly reshaping the labor market.
As a crucial component of this initiative, the parties have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism for systematically advancing Thailand's capabilities in AI-driven learning, skills assessment, and talent development. With policy support from Thailand's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), NETDRAGON and EDA (Thailand) will co-develop AI-powered learning platforms, competency assessment frameworks, and career bridging mechanisms to ensure that Thailand's talent cultivation efforts are precisely aligned with actual employment needs. The MOU fully reflects the shared commitment of all parties to deeply integrate AI into the entire "Learn-to-Career" process, ensuring that the outcomes of skills development are effectively translated into quantifiable productivity gains and enhanced employment competitiveness.
The core of this collaboration lies in redefining "job readiness" for the AI era. Moving beyond treating AI as a singular or add-on skill, the "Learn-to-Career" model embeds AI throughout the entire talent development journey—from skills assessment and personalized learning path planning to practical application and career matching. Designed with a core focus on quantifiable, results-oriented outcomes, the program facilitates precise alignment among learners, educational institutions, and employers, ensuring that skills development remains synchronized with the constantly evolving demands of the job market.
During a panel discussion at the event, Dr. Leung Luen Kin, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of NETDRAGON, highlighted that AI is reshaping industrial landscapes and social structures at an unprecedented pace and scale. He stated, "The development of AI is advancing rapidly, sometimes even exceeding our expectations. Governments must proactively play a guiding role to ensure that the benefits of AI technology can be shared across the entire society." Drawing comparisons with regional development experiences, Dr. Leung pointed out that Asia's policy-driven model has effectively accelerated the widespread adoption of AI across various sectors. He added, "China's top-down policy push has already facilitated the broad implementation of AI across industries, and Thailand's current development direction is equally encouraging and impressive."
NETDRAGON and EDA (Thailand) also emphasized the "equalizing" effect of AI in boosting productivity, which is particularly significant for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) that form the backbone of the Thai economy. Dr. Leung noted, "For SMEs, AI is a crucial tool for leveling the playing field. It can significantly enhance productivity and narrow the development gap between SMEs and large enterprises." By integrating AI-enabled skills frameworks and clearer competency assessment standards, the program aims to help SMEs more efficiently access talent with AI skills, while also enabling the quantifiable demonstration of workers' employability.
The collaborating parties unanimously believe this initiative has the potential to become a replicable model for other emerging economies in Asia, demonstrating how public-private partnerships, underpinned by policy support, can accelerate AI adoption while maintaining a strong focus on labor development outcomes. Looking ahead, NETDRAGON and EDA (Thailand) have reaffirmed their commitment to continuously expanding the reach and accessibility of AI-empowered learning, deepening cross-sector collaboration, and building a resilient talent pool to support Thailand's sustainable economic growth.
