China New Town Development Company Limited (“China New Town”) has implemented senior management changes effective 25 June 2026.
Hu Zhiwei, 41, joins the board as a non-executive director following board approval on the same date. Hu holds a master’s degree in science from Beihang University and a bachelor’s degree in science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is currently deputy general manager of the International Department at China Development Bank Capital Corporation Limited, having served in multiple equity and research divisions since 2009. Between 2007 and 2009 he worked at Lazard Asia (Hong Kong) Limited. Hu’s three-year appointment carries no director’s fee and is subject to retirement and re-election in accordance with the company’s articles.
Concurrently, Mei Zhe has resigned as company secretary and authorised representative. Wong Oi In, corporate secretarial manager at Boardroom Corporate Services (HK) Limited, succeeds Mei in both roles. Wong is a Chartered Secretary and Chartered Governance Professional with more than 15 years of corporate secretarial experience and is an associate member of both The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute and The Chartered Governance Institute (UK). Mei confirmed no disagreements with the board and no matters requiring shareholder attention regarding her departure.
Following these changes, China New Town’s board comprises: • Executive Directors – Yang Meiyu (President), Shi Janson Bing • Non-Executive Directors – Liu Yanhong (Chairman), Xie Zhen, Hu Zhiwei, Qin Yangfan • Independent Non-Executive Directors – Lo Wai Hung, Ji Jiaming, Yuan Kejian.
The board expressed appreciation for Mei’s service and welcomed Hu and Wong to their new positions.
