Rex International Holding Limited said on Feb, 03 2026 that its indirect subsidiary Akrake Petroleum Benin S.A. has completed drilling the AK-2H production well in the Sèmè Field, offshore Benin.

The horizontal section reached 1,405 metres, intersecting about 950 metres of oil-saturated sandstone within the Abeokuta Formation (H6) of Cretaceous age, with no water-bearing sand encountered. Average reservoir porosity exceeded 19% and average oil saturation topped 70%.

The well has been equipped with screens and autonomous inflow control valves to limit sand and water entry, and installation of a down-hole electrical submersible pump is under way. Rex added that hook-up work on the field’s mobile offshore production unit and floating storage and offloading unit is progressing, with further updates to follow.
