The State Taxation Administration has disclosed a tax evasion case involving the popular food and venue reviewer influencer Bai Bing. Investigations revealed that from 2021 to 2024, Bai Bing underreported personal income tax, value-added tax, and deed tax by altering the nature of his income and submitting false declarations, resulting in total unpaid taxes of 9.1118 million yuan. The tax authorities have ordered him to pay back taxes, late fees, and penalties totaling 18.9124 million yuan. All amounts have now been fully recovered.

Public information shows that Bai Bing’s Douyin account, "MR-Bai Bing," currently has 40.487 million followers. His last update was two days ago, and features such as likes, comments, and follows remain functional, with no visible impact on the account so far.

Previously, another influencer couple, "Xiaoying and Her Husband," with tens of millions of followers, was penalized for tax evasion by the Foshan Tax Bureau in Guangdong. They were ordered to repay taxes of 17.82479659 million yuan and fined 5.97328746 million yuan, bringing the total penalty to approximately 23.79 million yuan. Subsequently, their Douyin account was restricted for violating laws and platform policies. Their live-streaming history now shows as hidden by the host. The couple’s most recent video was posted on October 21.

When asked whether Bai Bing’s account would face similar restrictions, Douyin’s customer service responded that it is not yet clear whether his account will be suspended and that any action would be based on official notification.
