Shares of Amcor plc (AMCR) plummeted 8.65% in pre-market trading on Thursday following the release of its fiscal 2025 fourth-quarter results and 2026 outlook. The global packaging solutions provider's performance fell short of analyst expectations, raising concerns about its recent acquisition of Berry Global and future growth prospects.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2025, Amcor reported adjusted earnings of $0.20 per diluted share, missing the FactSet consensus estimate of $0.22. Net sales for the quarter came in at $5.08 billion, up significantly from $3.54 billion a year earlier due to the Berry Global acquisition, but still below the $5.19 billion analysts had projected. The company's quarterly performance was impacted by integration costs related to the Berry Global acquisition, which closed on April 30, 2025.

Adding to investor concerns, Amcor provided a cautious outlook for fiscal 2026. The company expects adjusted earnings per share to be in the range of $0.80 to $0.83, with the upper end just meeting the current FactSet consensus of $0.83. This guidance suggests that the integration of Berry Global and the realization of synergies may take longer than initially anticipated. Despite these challenges, Amcor maintained its quarterly dividend at $0.1275 per share, payable on September 25 to shareholders of record as of September 5.
