Liquidia Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: LQDA) saw its shares surge 5.39% during pre-market trading on Monday, following the release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results.
The biopharmaceutical company reported quarterly earnings of $0.52 per share, significantly beating the analyst consensus estimate of $0.41. This represents a substantial swing from a loss of $0.45 per share in the same period last year. Quarterly sales reached $132.865 million, also surpassing the $116.675 million estimate and marking a massive increase over the $3.120 million reported a year ago.
The strong performance was primarily driven by sales of YUTREPIA, the company's inhaled dry-powder formulation for pulmonary hypertension. Liquidia reported net product sales of approximately $130 million from YUTREPIA, with more than 4,500 unique patient prescriptions and approximately 3,750 patients treated since its launch in June 2025. This marks the company's third consecutive quarter of profitability, with net income of $52.9 million for the quarter.
