Tapestry Inc.计划向回收皮革生产商Gen Phoenix投资1500万美元,以推动可持续皮革制品的开发,并吸引Z世代消费者群体。这笔投资将使Tapestry在Gen Phoenix的持股比例提升至9.9%,双方旨在通过合作增强对环保产品的投入。

合作始于2022年,当时蔻驰(Coach)推出了面向Z世代(1997年至2012年出生)的产品线Coachtopia,该系列采用至少50%的回收皮革纤维,这些材料由Gen Phoenix从欧洲制革厂和工厂的废弃物中供应。Tapestry首席财务官兼首席运营官斯科特·罗强调,Coachtopia是洞察年轻消费者消费习惯的风向标。“虽然Coachtopia的商业规模相对较小,但它帮助我们理解这一关键人群的价值观,”罗表示。他拒绝透露该产品线在Tapestry总收入中的具体占比,仅称其“规模有限”。

Gen Phoenix估计,其材料比原生皮革的碳足迹降低80%,凸显环保效益。此前,双方曾合作开发无涂层衬里材料,并在一年内推向市场,Gen Phoenix首席营销官艾莉丝·温纳指出这一成果。作为投资协议的一部分,Gen Phoenix将在未来三年内向Tapestry供应回收皮革。

Gen Phoenix首席执行官约翰·肯尼迪表达了对与Tapestry旗下所有品牌合作的期待,包括蔻驰和凯特·丝蓓(Kate Spade)。罗补充道,回收材料在其他产品线的应用仍需探索,“存在大量机会来重新利用废弃物资源”。
