The 5th Session of the 17th Wencheng County People's Congress and the 5th Session of the 10th Wencheng County Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference convened on the afternoon and morning of January 28th, respectively. A string of familiar names emerged as new highlights in the government work report delivered during the county's "Two Sessions."
In 2025, the CR BEVERAGE production base was constructed and began operations within just 16 months; over the past five years, two industry leaders, CR BEVERAGE and Wahaha, have established facilities in the Water Economy Industrial Park; by 2026, landmark projects including a Club Med hotel are scheduled for completion. The growing preference of these well-known brands for Wencheng signifies a new trend: the accelerating branding process within the county's ecological industries.
Within the water economy sector, two of the top three brands by market share in China's packaged water market have already set up operations in Wencheng. Among them, the Wahaha Wencheng Intelligent Beverage Production Base was selected as a national智能制造示范工厂揭榜单位, recognized as the county's first and so far only provincial-level "Future Factory." The newly operational CR BEVERAGE Wenzhou production base serves as the brand's first self-owned factory in Zhejiang, aiming to become an industry benchmark and CR BEVERAGE's inaugural "lights-out factory."
Venturing into the low-altitude economy, the county has entered the eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing aircraft) sector, engaging in deep collaboration with the globally leading urban air mobility technology company, EHang Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd.
The cultural tourism industry has particularly attracted a cohort of renowned brands to establish a presence in Wencheng and capture market share. The Wenzhou Jiamaihu Millennium Resort, New Century Resort Fangcaodi, and Home2 Suites by Hilton have commenced operations, Club Med has completed the underground section of its main building, and the Wencheng Hotel is undergoing upgrades to five-star standards with operational management introduced from "BTG Nan Yuan."
Leveraging their substantial capabilities and influence, these famous brands are contributing to stable, progressive economic growth in the mountainous region. The EHang Zhejiang Center and Zhejiang Wings eVTOL Center have become relatively comprehensive low-altitude economic complexes within the province and key platforms for Wencheng's strategic layout in the low-altitude industry. CR BEVERAGE's production base is projected to add over 700 million yuan in annual output value upon reaching full capacity, while job application lines for Wahaha reportedly stretched from inside the town government compound all the way outside. The influx of branded hotels assisted the county in surpassing 1.6 million overnight visitors last year, representing a significant 19.6% year-on-year increase.
These achievements sparked lively discussions among the county's delegates and committee members. Delegate Xia Chunbei suggested seizing the opportunity presented by the arrival of tourism brands to simultaneously advance the construction of safety facilities and related supporting infrastructure, introduce sports formats to create distinctive events, and link cultural tourism, agricultural, and wellness resources along routes to promote deep integration of culture, sports, and tourism. Committee member Lin Jiating recommended focusing on key areas such as auto and motorcycle parts, fashion luggage, and food processing to target and attract leading enterprises in these industries, encouraging them to establish regional headquarters or production bases, thereby continuously strengthening the foundation of the ecological industry.
