GIGADEVICE's stock surged 5.04% during intraday trading on Tuesday, rebounding sharply after its A-shares triggered an oversold recovery in the Hong Kong market.

The rally came on the heels of the company's A-shares hitting the 10% limit-down the previous day, with institutions net selling RMB 808 million. The Hong Kong-listed shares staged a strong recovery as investors focused on the company's announced plan to repurchase RMB 1-2 billion of A-shares at a maximum price of RMB 750 per share, with all repurchased shares to be cancelled to reduce registered capital.

Further bolstering sentiment, Chairman Zhu Yiming has committed not to reduce his holdings for 12 months starting July 29 and plans to increase his stake by no less than RMB 1 billion. The extraordinary shareholders' meeting is scheduled for August 20 to review the buyback proposal, providing additional support for market confidence.
