Stock Track | Bloom Energy Plunges 5.05% Over 24 Hours Amid Short Seller Concerns Over Scandium Supply Chain

Stock Track
Jul 13

Bloom Energy Corp's stock experienced a significant decline of 5.05% over the past 24 hours, reflecting continued pressure on the fuel cell manufacturer's shares.

The plunge follows lingering market unease stemming from a short seller report by Hunterbrook Capital, which questioned the viability of Bloom Energy's supply chain. The report specifically raised concerns about the company's need for approximately 220 tons of scandium oxide to meet its 5GW annual production capacity target, comparing this to the estimated global annual supply of just 240 tons. Despite Bloom Energy filing a rebuttal with the SEC calling the allegations "false and misleading" and asserting it has supply chain visibility to support 25GW of annual fuel cell production, market skepticism has persisted, contributing to the recent sell-off.
