In a recent visit to XiYema Village, Beitaitou Township, Wei County, Hebei Province, young grain grower Xie Shuai kun was inspecting the growth of his 300 plus mu of interplanted corn and soybeans.
As a national demonstration county for rural revitalization, Wei County sows over 600,000 mu of autumn grain crops. To safeguard food production, the county s agricultural bureau has organized expert teams to maintain contact with townships and key grain growers, enhancing scientific management of seeds, water and fertilizer, pest control, and drainage and drought resistance, laying a solid foundation for a bountiful autumn harvest.
During the current corn grain filling stage, local agricultural specialists are conducting field surveys in groups to assess soil moisture and pest conditions, offering guidance to both large scale growers and ordinary farmers on late season management practices.
The county has already conducted 11 training sessions on integrated pest control for corn and the "one spray, multiple boosts" technique for the middle and late growth stages. Additionally, over 200 editions of pesticide safety application guidelines have been shared via WeChat and Douyin platforms, benefiting more than 20,000 farmers.
