The vessel MSC JOSEFINA departed smoothly from the Phase III terminal at Guangzhou Nansha Port on September 10, marking the successful inaugural voyage of Mediterranean Shipping Company's (MSC) core Asia-Europe route, the "Albatros" service, at the port.

This milestone injects fresh momentum into the port's deep-sea route network and establishes a highly efficient, convenient logistics corridor for foreign trade enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and surrounding hinterlands, providing direct access to key European ports.

Currently, MSC operates 10 cargo shipping routes from Guangzhou Nansha Port. From January to August this year, container throughput on these routes reached 920,000 TEUs, approaching 96% of the total for all of 2025, reflecting robust business growth.

The "Albatros" service is MSC's flagship weekly mainline route dedicated to the Far East to Northern Europe market, deploying 15 large container vessels exceeding 150,000 tons each. This ensures ample capacity, reliable scheduling, and high transport efficiency.

With the route now operating regularly at Guangzhou Nansha Port, it will further densify the port's deep-sea liner network and refine its international shipping layout. This move continuously optimizes the foreign trade logistics environment in the Greater Bay Area, offering regional import and export companies superior, more efficient direct shipping services to Europe. Additionally, it supports the steady growth of foreign trade container throughput at Guangzhou Nansha Port and drives high-quality development.
