The city has actively secured and precisely implemented central special lottery funds to support low-income women under the "Two Cancers" (breast and cervical cancer) relief program, along with provincial-level aid for disadvantaged urban and rural women. A total of 1.22 million yuan has been distributed to 122 affected women, effectively delivering the care of the Party and government to those in need.
"I’m so grateful! This money not only eased my family’s financial burden but also gave me courage to fight the disease!" said one beneficiary emotionally upon receiving 10,000 yuan in aid. Many recipients expressed their determination to turn society’s compassion into motivation, actively cooperating with treatment for a full recovery.
As a "close ally" for women, the local Women’s Federation prioritizes the "Two Cancers" relief initiative. To ensure fairness, federations at all levels have strengthened collaboration with health, civil affairs, and medical insurance departments, establishing data-sharing and verification mechanisms. Through home visits and joint reviews, they rigorously complete the screening, public disclosure, and confirmation of beneficiaries, ensuring every fund is used effectively.
Beyond financial aid, the federations serve as a bridge by implementing diversified follow-up care. Regular in-person visits or phone check-ins help track recipients’ health conditions, treatment progress, and daily challenges, offering encouragement and optimism. Health education is also provided, delivering warmth and comfort as a "supportive family."
"Distributing special relief funds not only conveys the care of the Party, government, and Women’s Federation but also promotes societal awareness of Female Health and strengthens women’s health safeguards," stated a federation representative. Moving forward, efforts will expand the "Two Cancers" relief program, intensify prevention awareness, and wholeheartedly protect women’s health to enhance their sense of fulfillment, happiness, and security.
