MasTec's stock surged 8.34% in after-hours trading on Thursday, extending gains from a strong intraday session.
The sharp rise was driven by the company's first-quarter 2026 financial results, which significantly exceeded analyst expectations. MasTec reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.39, beating the consensus estimate of $0.99 by 40.4%. Revenue came in at $3.829 billion, surpassing the $3.489 billion estimate by 9.73%.
Furthermore, the infrastructure builder raised its full-year 2026 financial guidance, increasing its revenue forecast to $17.5 billion and its adjusted diluted EPS outlook to $8.79. The strong quarterly performance was attributed to substantial growth in its Pipeline Infrastructure segment, which saw revenue increase by 91%, and its Clean Energy and Infrastructure segment, which grew 45% year-over-year.
