On August 27, Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates (HIBOR) saw a broad uptick across most tenors, although the one-month rate, which is closely tied to mortgage lending, slipped 0.590 basis points to 2.78821%. Meanwhile, the three-month rate, a key gauge of bank funding costs, eased 0.851 basis points to 2.97869%.
In the shorter end of the curve, the overnight rate climbed 5.095 basis points to 3.19071%, while the one-week rate rose 6.637 basis points to 3.11137%. The two-week rate also advanced, gaining 2.822 basis points to settle at 2.91679%. The two-month rate ticked up 0.649 basis points to 2.91185%.
Looking at longer maturities, the six-month rate edged 0.518 basis points higher to 3.20518%, while the one-year rate remained flat, holding steady at 3.50000%.
