This marks the first time China Life has established a "Chief Marketing Officer" position since its listing, and the first time this life insurance leader with total assets exceeding 8 trillion yuan has created a chief-level post for its marketing line.

China Life Insurance Company Limited (ASX: 601628) recently announced that the 33rd meeting of its eighth board of directors approved the proposal to nominate Mr. Dan Xinhu as the company's Chief Marketing Officer, and the board's nomination and remuneration committee has already reviewed and passed the proposal.

Dan Xinhu was born in November 1969 and graduated from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. From 2016 to 2022, he successively served as assistant general manager and deputy general manager of the company's Henan Provincial Branch, and deputy general manager (presiding over work) of the Gansu Provincial Branch. Since December 2022, he has served as general manager of the company's Shandong Provincial Branch.

This is the first time China Life has established a "chief" level position for its marketing line. The Chief Marketing Officer is primarily responsible for formulating and overseeing marketing strategies, coordinating brand building, customer analysis, and market resource allocation, and serves as the highest decision-maker in the enterprise's marketing department.

China Life Pension Insurance Co., Ltd., which also belongs to the China Life Group system, has also established a Chief Marketing Officer position. According to the 2026 second-quarter solvency report disclosed by China Life Pension, Chen Jian has served as Chief Marketing Officer since May 2025. He previously served as Party Committee Secretary and General Manager of China Life Pension's Anhui Provincial Branch, and Party Committee Secretary and General Manager of its Jiangsu Provincial Branch, among other positions.

The newly created Chief Marketing Officer role at China Life is seen as a signal of a shift from "sales-driven" to "market-oriented operation," intended to elevate marketing and customer management to the decision-making level and strengthen the cultivation of existing customers and omni-channel coordination.
