JD Logistics (02618) released its interim results for the first half of 2026 on August 13. For the period, total revenue reached RMB 124.7 billion, a 26.5% increase year-on-year, while adjusted operating profit climbed 39.9% to RMB 3.6 billion.
During the first six months, the company continued to strengthen its core integrated supply chain business, focusing on improving customer experience and building operational capabilities. It also deepened its overseas expansion and accelerated the large-scale deployment of AI and automation, which collectively drove high-quality revenue growth and significant improvements in operating profit, further enhancing the company's resilience.
Supply Chain Capabilities Strengthen, Overseas Business Maintains High Growth
In the first half of 2026, JD Logistics' integrated supply chain revenue totaled RMB 59.4 billion, up 18.5% year-on-year. Enhanced service capabilities are increasing customer loyalty, as the company served nearly 80,000 external integrated supply chain customers, with average revenue per customer reaching RMB 254,000.
JD Logistics continued to refine differentiated solutions for sectors including fast-moving consumer goods, home appliances, 3C electronics, apparel, automotive, and fresh produce. Services for the home appliance industry have become a key growth driver. In the second quarter, JD Logistics deepened its partnership with a leading cleaning appliance brand, leveraging its high-speed network to ensure exceptional delivery performance even during peak business periods.
In the consumer goods sector, the integrated supply chain business expanded into high-barrier, high-specification segments. JD Logistics formed a deeper collaboration with an international supermarket chain, providing warehousing and distribution for its online channels and becoming its full-channel logistics provider in China. To meet the client's rigorous food safety and compliance requirements, JD Logistics built an online fulfillment system from scratch, passed SGS audits, and achieved warehousing and delivery standards that meet European food safety regulations, demonstrating its capability to serve high-standard domestic and international food clients.
Alongside deepening client partnerships, JD Logistics expanded its own supply chain network. In the first half of the year, it opened a new smart FDC warehouse in Nyingchi, Tibet, ushering in the era of "211 time-limited delivery" for the region. In Xinjiang, a new sorting center in Aksu can now process up to 260,000 parcels daily, enabling same-day delivery across southern Xinjiang.
Leveraging its mature supply chain operations and expanding overseas warehouse network, JD Logistics has become a preferred logistics partner for many Chinese brands going global. This drove continued high growth in overseas business, which is expected to become a significant second growth curve. In the second quarter, JD Logistics' own express brand, JoyExpress, expanded its network in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, and France, strongly supporting the growth of JD.com's European retail platform, Joybuy. Recent heatwaves in Europe drove unexpected demand for air conditioners, and JD Logistics’ "delivery and installation" service effectively handled the peak demand, establishing a mindset of reliable delivery among overseas consumers.
JD Logistics now operates over 200 overseas warehouses, bonded warehouses, and direct-mail warehouses across 26 countries and regions, with total overseas warehouse management area exceeding 2 million square meters. As its overseas coverage and fulfillment capabilities improve, partnerships with overseas and local clients are deepening. In the US, JD Logistics won several consumer electronics clients, providing warehousing, distribution, and omni-channel fulfillment. In Europe, it expanded service areas for home appliance and drone brands. In the Middle East, it partnered with a leading consumer electronics company to build a high-standard smart warehouse, deploying its proprietary smart warehouse system and offering customized solutions.
JD Logistics also continuously refines its emergency logistics network, combining normal operations with emergency response, smart scheduling, nationwide coverage, and air-ground integration. During the 2026 flood season, JD.com activated its emergency response plan, utilizing JD Logistics’ warehouse, drone, and ground transport capabilities for material delivery, terrain surveying, and disinfection, actively participating in disaster relief and reconstruction.
Comprehensive Services and High-Quality Fulfillment Set Industry Standards
In recent years, JD Logistics has strengthened its high-speed delivery capabilities, driving high-quality growth in its express and freight products. In the first half of 2026, revenue from other customers, including express, freight, and instant delivery, reached RMB 65.3 billion, a 34.8% increase year-on-year.
By focusing on high-speed services, optimizing resource allocation, and deepening its presence in core scenarios, JD Logistics drove rapid growth in high-value business segments. Express revenue growth exceeded the industry average, and the business mix continued to improve. In air transport, JD Airlines now operates 13 freighters and continues to invest in commercial airline capacity, consistently improving the speed of next-day air delivery.
This speed improvement has also accelerated JD Logistics’ penetration into the fresh produce market, covering seasonal fruits like cherries, lychees, peaches, loquats, bayberries, and blueberries. In the Shenzhen jewelry market, the company created a specialized solution for high-value, high-security items, using dedicated direct delivery lines to achieve "send today, arrive tomorrow." It upgraded transport to "special security service," with custom protective packaging, high-definition monitoring, and end-delivery identity verification, effectively controlling loss rates.
JD Express continues to deepen its presence in niche segments, with certificate and document delivery services now covering dozens of cities across China, maintaining industry-leading collection timeliness. JD Express services now cover all counties in China, reaching nearly all administrative villages, and have established nearly 100,000 service stations at the village and township levels. In the first half of 2026, JD Express launched the "Eshan Model" in Yunnan, a pioneering rural delivery model that solves the problem of delivering to remote mountain villages.
JD Express has also innovated its products to improve user experience. It launched the "Handy Send" service, the industry's first integrated pickup and delivery offering, allowing users to order a pickup while checking or receiving a parcel. It also introduced "Agent Full-Automated Service," becoming one of the first express brands to deploy such a service. Additionally, JD Express launched two new time-sensitive products: "Cross-City Express," delivering parcels between cities in as fast as 4 hours, and "Ultra-Fast Delivery," delivering within 1 hour from the local station.
For heavy goods, JD Logistics launched three product tiers: Heavy Freight Express, Heavy Freight Standard, and Heavy Freight Economy, lowering the minimum weight for freight services from 20kg to 15kg, further refining its freight service ecosystem. In June, it launched "Jing Chong Da," a dedicated pet delivery service with standards for self-operated, safe, and traceable transport, now available in over 40 core cities with a 100% customer satisfaction rate.
In the first half of 2026, JD Logistics also launched the industry's first "Robot Ambulance" service, providing professional maintenance and repair for humanoid robots, quadruped robots, and AI companion robots. This service covers diagnostics, battery replacement, testing, cosmetic maintenance, and equipment recycling. In June, JD Logistics expanded this service to Europe with the launch of JoyRobocare in the UK, Germany, and France, covering major cities with plans for further expansion.
AI and Automation Reshape Logistics, Scaled Across the Supply Chain
AI and automation are rapidly transforming the logistics industry. In the first half of the year, JD Logistics accelerated the integration of these technologies, leveraging its vast operational scenarios and complete supply chain to build a unique, end-to-end intelligent operations system covering warehousing, sorting, transport, and delivery.
During the June 18 shopping festival, JD Logistics' upgraded "Super Brain" large model 2.0 was deployed at scale, calculating the fastest delivery route for billions of parcels in just 3 minutes. It also launched the "AI Map Inventory Diagnosis Assistant," enabling differentiated smart replenishment for millions of SKUs, improving inventory turnover efficiency by 30-40%.
In warehousing, the self-developed "Zhi Lang" (Smart Wolf) goods-to-person solution has been deployed in over 60 warehouses globally, including in the UK and Germany, and is now used for categories beyond apparel, including books, industrial products, and health products. In sorting, JD Logistics upgraded its "Yi Lang" (Strange Wolf) robotic arm, moving from a single-arm to a dual-arm configuration, significantly improving sorting efficiency for massive volumes of parcels. Driven by the Super Brain, the robot uses multi-sensor data to identify package size and material, adapting its grip for boxes, soft packages, and irregular items, completing a full sorting cycle in 10 seconds.
In delivery, JD Logistics now operates thousands of unmanned vehicles across more than 20 provinces. It launched the first "nighttime delivery route" for unmanned vehicles in Shenzhen, allowing 24/7 operation and pushing the boundaries of unmanned vehicle deployment. In the low-altitude sector, JD Logistics' drones are used for food delivery, urgent medicine delivery, and emergency relief, with over 100 domestic drone routes. In June, JD Logistics launched China's largest drone delivery network to villages in Zizhong, Sichuan, covering 78 administrative villages and reaching remote mountain villages in as fast as 7 minutes, providing strong support for a comprehensive, three-dimensional smart fulfillment network.
