On July 1st, the first-half performance reports of China's major new energy vehicle brands were released, showing a continued year-on-year growth trend overall.

However, when assessed against annual targets, none of the brands that have disclosed their goals have achieved a first-half completion rate exceeding 50%, with most clustered between 30% and 40%.

In June, Leapmotor retained its position as the sales champion among new carmakers with global deliveries of 93,376 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 95%, setting a new brand monthly record.

Harmony Smart Drive returned to the "50,000+" camp with 50,624 deliveries, while Li Auto recorded 30,895 deliveries, experiencing both year-on-year and month-on-month declines.

First-Half Target Progress Overview

In terms of first-half target achievement, NIO Inc.'s completion rate of approximately 41.9% is the only one among brands with disclosed targets to surpass 40%.

Li Auto has achieved about 39.68% of its goal, requiring average monthly deliveries exceeding 49,000 vehicles in the second half to meet its annual target.

The achievement rates for XPeng Inc. and Xiaomi Corp. are both around 30%.

Leapmotor Maintains Leadership, Exports Shine

Within the new carmaker segment, Leapmotor continues to hold the leading position.

The company announced on July 1st that its global deliveries for June reached 93,376 vehicles, a 95% year-on-year increase, once again setting a new brand monthly sales record.

Exports for the month reached 21,000 vehicles, accounting for approximately 22% of the total.

Zhu Jiangming, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Leapmotor, revealed that the global monthly sales of the C series exceeded 30,000 units, the D19 has accumulated nearly 20,000 deliveries, the A10 once again achieved monthly deliveries over 20,000 units in June, and the refreshed B series will be launched in July.

In the first half of this year, Leapmotor's global cumulative deliveries reached 356,487 vehicles, with nearly 100,000 units exported overseas, already surpassing last year's full-year export volume.

Calculated against an annual sales target of 1 million vehicles, the first-half achievement rate is about 35.6%, indicating a significant gap remains to the target.

On the product front, the all-new C10, C11, and C16 models were refreshed and launched on June 16th, offering further optimizations in intelligence, comfort, and practicality to meet diverse family travel needs.

The brand's first flagship MPV, the D99, officially launched on June 25th, achieving comprehensive advancements in spatial layout, driving performance, range capability, and safety systems, setting a new benchmark for flagship MPVs.

NIO's Three-Brand Strategy Gains Traction, Leads in Progress Rate

NIO Inc. delivered 40,597 new vehicles in June, marking the highest monthly figure this year and a 62.9% year-on-year increase.

All three brands under NIO showed double-digit growth: the NIO brand delivered 21,908 vehicles (up 50.1% year-on-year), the Ledao brand delivered 11,743 vehicles (up 83.5% year-on-year), and the firefly brand delivered 6,946 vehicles (up 76.7% year-on-year).

Based on the full-year target range of 456,400 to 489,000 vehicles, the achievement rate is approximately 41.9%, making it the fastest progressing among the major new energy brands currently.

XPeng, Li Auto, and Xiaomi: Varying Paces

XPeng Inc. delivered 40,126 vehicles in June, a 15.9% year-on-year increase, moving up one spot to rank third; second-quarter cumulative deliveries reached 103,295 vehicles.

In Li Auto's current sales structure, the pure electric model i6 is the main contributor, while the new L9 and L8 models are still in the early stages of production ramp-up and delivery, which has somewhat dragged down the overall sales performance.

Li Auto's second-quarter deliveries totaled 98,330 vehicles, reaching the upper end of its guidance range of 95,000 to 100,000 vehicles.

First-half cumulative deliveries reached 193,500 vehicles. Against an annual target of approximately 487,600 vehicles, the achievement rate is about 39.68%, requiring average monthly deliveries of over 49,000 vehicles in the remaining months to meet the annual goal.

Xiaomi Corp.'s automotive unit sustained June deliveries above 30,000 vehicles, with first-half cumulative deliveries exceeding 169,000 units.
