The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) projects that the nation's electricity consumption will increase by 1% this year and by 3% by 2027. This would mark the first instance of four consecutive years of electricity demand growth since 2007 and represent the most robust four-year growth period since 2000.

The EIA added, "The primary factor driving this surge is the escalating demand from large-scale computing centers."
