Global Chi BC (01757) has announced that the company has entered into a sale and purchase agreement to acquire a total of 33% of the issued share capital of a company incorporated in the British Virgin Islands (the Target Company). The Target Company wholly owns a Hong Kong-registered firm (the Licensed Securities Company), which holds a license from the Securities and Futures Commission to carry out Type 1 (dealing in securities) regulated activities. As a result, upon completion of the acquisition, the Group will have acquired a 33% indirect stake in the Licensed Securities Company. The Board considers the acquisition a strategic move for the Group to explore opportunities in the financial services industry, enabling it to broaden its revenue base by capitalizing on potential opportunities in Hong Kong’s financial services market. The acquisition aligns with the Group’s long-term strategy of enhancing operational performance, strengthening its financial position, and diversifying its business portfolio. While continuing to focus on its existing principal businesses of foundation works and construction machinery leasing, the Group will also adopt a prudent approach in exploring and seizing business opportunities in financial services-related sectors.
