SIA's stock surged 3.09% during intraday trading on Wednesday, following news of a significant maintenance agreement for its low-cost subsidiary Scoot.

Pratt & Whitney Canada has signed a 15-year maintenance agreement with Scoot for a minimum of 24 APS5000 auxiliary power units on Scoot's fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The agreement covers maintenance solutions to ensure the performance, durability, and reliability of the APS5000 APU fleet, supporting Scoot's operational needs.

The APS5000 is noted for its fuel efficiency, low emissions, and enhanced maintainability, which could contribute to improved operational efficiency and potentially lower maintenance costs for SIA's subsidiary operations.
