In Taiyuan's Xinghualing District, the second phase of a major project to renovate aging residential communities has initiated an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) general contracting tender. This significant urban renewal initiative encompasses 133 residential complexes. The scope of renovations includes building repairs, environmental improvements, and the addition of new facilities. The project will be executed across nine separate contract lots, with funding sourced from special bonds and district-level fiscal allocations.
According to a notice from the Shanxi Provincial Public Resources Trading Center dated May 27th, the tender process for the EPC contract of the Xinghualing District 2024 Aging Community Renovation Project (Phase II) is now open. The official tender announcement confirms that the project has received approval from the Taiyuan Xinghualing District Administrative Examination and Approval Service Bureau. The designated tendering entity is the Taiyuan Xinghualing District Urban and Rural Administration Bureau.
The project area is defined geographically, stretching from North Zhonghuan Street in the north to South Xiaoqiang Street in the south, and from Binhe East Road in the west to Dongfeng Road in the east.
The comprehensive renovation work for the 133 communities involves numerous upgrades. These include replacing unit entrance doors, installing energy-efficient insulation and waterproofing on roofs, replacing windows and downspouts, setting up waste sorting stations, installing fitness equipment, updating building signage and stairwell window guards, improving stairwell lighting, enhancing green spaces, installing cultural information boards, and repainting public areas.
The EPC contract covers all project phases from initial design through to the end of the warranty period. This includes detailed construction design, all construction work, related equipment procurement, final inspection, acceptance, delivery, and any necessary remedial work during the defect liability period.
The project is divided into nine distinct contract lots, as detailed below: - Lot 1: 14 communities, including Nanzhaxian Dormitories and Meihuayuan Residential Area. - Lot 2: 22 communities, including the Cadre Rest Home and Hongyi Dormitories. - Lot 3: 33 communities, including residences on Fushan Fudong Lane and dormitories for provincial-level organizations. - Lot 4: 12 communities, such as Building No. 2 on Xinjian Road. - Lot 5: 23 communities, including No. 27 Xinmin East Street and the Wanjiazhai Residential Area. - Lot 6: 7 communities, including Building 11 of the Metallurgy School dormitories. - Lot 7: 9 communities, including No. 13 Xixiang Courtyard and Jinyang Residential Area. - Lot 8: 6 communities, including the Electric Power High-rise on Fudong Street. - Lot 9: 7 communities, including the Taiyuan Steel Plant two-story buildings and the Rongtian Residential Area.
