A user posted on X, stating: "No matter what happens in Europe and the U.S., the world is transitioning to electric vehicles. Western automakers are powerless to reverse this trend, and geopolitical risks in the oil sector will only accelerate this process." Elon Musk responded, saying: "True."

Musk also replied to a post by electric vehicle analyst Sawyer Merritt, who wrote: "The growing adoption of electric vehicles globally last year helped reduce oil consumption by 2.3 million barrels per day. By 2030, this figure is expected to more than double, reaching 5.25 million barrels per day. Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly cost-competitive with gasoline cars. Fluctuations in oil prices mean that for countries wishing to avoid future shocks, electric vehicles are a wise choice." Musk responded: "Solar/batteries/electric vehicles are the future."
