消息面上，此前有“大空头”之称的迈克尔·伯里（Michael Burry）公开披露了对应用材料的空头仓位，并持续加码做空AI及半导体板块。伯里认为，当前AI产业链的投资节奏已明显快于真实需求增长，大规模AI基础设施建设更多依赖资本持续投入，而终端商业化需求尚未完全兑现。他预计，包括应用材料在内的AI相关芯片股整体可能出现约30%的调整。
受此影响，美股半导体设备股今日普遍走低，阿斯麦跌超4%，泛林集团、科磊等也纷纷下挫，市场对半导体板块的谨慎情绪明显升温。值得注意的是，自伯里首次公开做空半导体板块以来，相关板块已出现一轮明显调整，应用材料股价亦承压走低。
