China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec Corp., 00386) announced the election of Mr. Wang Shijie as the employee representative director for the company’s ninth Board of Directors. His term will run from 19 March 2026 until the expiry of the ninth Board’s mandate.
Mr. Wang, 54, is a professor-level senior engineer with a master’s degree. He currently serves as General Manager and Deputy CPC Secretary of Sinopec Group Northwest Petroleum Bureau Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Sinopec Corp.’s Northwest Oilfield Branch, positions he has held since October 2018. In December 2023, he became Executive Director and CPC Secretary of the Bureau and Representative of the Northwest Oilfield Branch.
The company confirmed that Mr. Wang: • Holds no directorships in other listed companies over the past three years. • Has no relationship with other directors, senior management, substantial or controlling shareholders. • Owns no shares in Sinopec Corp. under Part XV of the Securities and Futures Ordinance. • Has not been subject to regulatory sanctions or stock-exchange disciplinary actions.
Mr. Wang will sign a service contract with remuneration to be set in line with national regulations and Sinopec’s performance appraisal and remuneration frameworks. The exact compensation will be disclosed in the company’s annual report.
