With the Spring Festival travel season underway, demand for trips home, family visits, and tourism has surged. Under the guidance of relevant authorities, DiDi Global Inc. has fully activated its support operations. The company has convened a safety and security planning meeting for the travel period, conducting risk identification and hazard inspections across multiple safety dimensions. It has organized emergency safety drills, strengthened safety protocols tailored to the holiday travel context, and optimized service experiences. Efforts to enhance driver safety training and rights protection have been intensified, with the company committed to ensuring orderly and secure travel during the peak season.

Given the increased risks associated with dense traffic flows, travelers assisting the elderly and children, long-distance intercity trips, and higher instances of intoxicated and nighttime travel, DiDi has reinforced protective measures for key scenarios while maintaining its foundational safety systems.

First, the platform is providing training on defensive driving, fatigue prevention, and highway and long-distance travel. It is distributing Spring Festival safety service guides and daily traffic risk updates. The system issues approximately 11 million daily reminders related to fatigue, distraction, and speeding, while imposing restrictions on around 4,000 drivers daily following verification of unsafe driving behavior.

Second, DiDi is closely monitoring unusual stops and route deviations, with real-time detection, alerts, and necessary intervention for abnormal trajectories or violations. Safety tools such as emergency contacts, trip sharing, family guardian features, and direct 110 police alerts are available to both drivers and passengers.

Third, safety experts are available online 24/7, collaborating closely with police to combat illegal activities involving the platform and strengthen safety defenses. Specialized response teams have been established to address severe weather conditions.

During the travel period, passenger demand has surged while many drivers also plan to return home for the holidays, creating greater challenges in balancing supply and demand. To encourage drivers to remain active and provide quality service for better earnings, DiDi is allocating 1.1 billion yuan in subsidies. Incentives such as commission-free cards, earnings acceleration cards, and completion bonuses are being offered. During certain peak travel times, the platform will trial driver service fees to help alleviate supply-demand imbalances. Additionally, DiDi is hosting Spring Festival banquets for drivers in cities including Fuzhou, Tianjin, and Shanghai, and organizing welfare stations in over 30 cities such as Beijing, Suzhou, Qingdao, Taiyuan, and Ningbo, where holiday gifts will be distributed.
