ICBC Board Endorses 2026 Interim Report, Five-Year Strategy and RMB2.11 Billion Preference Dividend

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (ICBC) reported that its Board of Directors met on 28 August 2026 and approved a series of core resolutions aimed at shaping the bank’s medium-term strategy and capital distribution policy. All 13 directors attended in person and voted unanimously on each proposal, confirming full quorum and procedural compliance.

The board adopted ICBC’s Development Plan for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, establishing the strategic framework for operations through 2030. While specifics were not disclosed, the resolution signals continuity in long-range planning for the world’s largest commercial bank by assets.

Directors also cleared the 2026 Interim Report and the accompanying Pillar 3 Capital Management Disclosure for publication, following prior review by the Audit Committee. The filings have been released on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the HKEX news platforms, providing stakeholders with mid-year financial and risk-management data.

Regarding shareholder returns, the board approved the 2026 Interim Profit Distribution Plan, which will be presented to the upcoming Shareholders’ Meeting for final ratification. Details of the plan were not specified in the announcement, but independent non-executive directors confirmed its compliance with relevant regulations and the bank’s Articles of Association.

In a separate action, ICBC declared a dividend on its domestic preference shares “工行優2.” Holders will receive a 3.02 percent pre-tax dividend, totaling RMB2.11 billion, payable on 24 September 2026. Independent directors affirmed that the payout aligns with statutory and corporate governance requirements.

The resolutions underline ICBC’s commitment to consistent strategy execution, transparent disclosure, and disciplined capital distribution as it progresses through the current financial year.
