The 2025 Sustainable Global Leaders Summit was held from October 16 to 18 at the Shanghai Expo Park in Huangpu District. The event gathered over 500 distinguished guests, including approximately 100 international attendees such as government officials, former leaders, representatives of international organizations, Nobel and Turing laureates, and executives from Fortune 500 companies.

As a global partner of the summit, Shenergy Group, along with its subsidiary Orient Securities (600958.SH, 03958.HK), presented at the inaugural Green Industry and Sustainable Consumption Expo under the theme "SHENERGY Empowering a Green Future." The exhibition highlighted breakthroughs and benchmark cases in sustainability across four key areas: green finance, green power, green cables, and green fuels.

As a comprehensive energy enterprise, Shenergy Group has been a pioneer in driving innovation within the energy sector for 24 consecutive years, earning a spot among China's top 500 enterprises. By the end of 2024, the group had over 340 wholly-owned and controlled subsidiaries, employing around 31,000 people. Key subsidiaries include Shenergy Co., Ltd. (600642.SH), Shanghai Gas, Orient Securities, Shenergy Insurance, and Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute.

**Green Finance: Channeling Capital Toward Sustainability** Leveraging Shenergy Group’s long-standing expertise in energy, Orient Securities has focused on becoming an energy-focused investment bank, specializing in green finance. The firm showcased its achievements in green bond issuance, ESG investment research, sustainable securities funds, and carbon finance, demonstrating its role in facilitating low-carbon transitions.

Shenergy Insurance, operational since 2024, has developed specialized green insurance products covering ESG, green industries, and sustainable living. It has insured green energy projects—including wind, hydro, and solar—worth over 43 billion yuan, serving more than 5,000 green enterprises. Meanwhile, Shenergy Finance Company has emerged as a leader in energy-focused financial services, disbursing over 60 billion yuan in green credit since the 13th Five-Year Plan, with green loans accounting for 60% of its portfolio.

**Green Power: Pioneering Clean Energy Expansion** Shenergy Group has actively advanced the development of new energy systems. Its subsidiary Shenergy Co., Ltd. (600642.SH) was the first listed enterprise in China’s power sector. By 2024, the group had installed 18.04 GW of controlled capacity nationwide, with renewables accounting for 6.13 GW (34.1% of the total).

The group has set benchmarks in both clean coal and renewable energy. Its Pingshan Power Plant Phase II in Anhui achieved a record-breaking coal consumption rate of 249.31 g/kWh under full-load conditions. In renewables, the Hainan CZ2 offshore wind project, fully grid-connected in March 2025, marked a milestone as Hainan’s first large-scale offshore wind initiative.

Additionally, Shenergy’s Fengxian Xinghuo energy storage demonstration base in Shanghai integrates multiple cutting-edge technologies, including lithium-ion, flow, and sodium-ion batteries, with a capacity of 40MW/160MWh. The project’s first phase recently commenced operations, enhancing grid flexibility.

**Green Cables: Driving Industry Transformation** Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute, under Shenergy Group, is leading innovation in energy transmission. Its 35 kV superconducting cable project, operational since 2021, has safely powered Shanghai’s urban core for over 1,300 days—a global first for large-scale urban superconducting applications. The technology holds promise for data centers, hydrogen production, and fast-charging stations, offering zero-carbon solutions for future industrial microgrids.

**Green Fuels: Advancing Methanol and Hydrogen** Shenergy Group is actively developing green methanol and hydrogen as strategic growth areas. The group is constructing Shanghai’s first 100,000-ton green methanol plant, which has secured full-chain green certification and is set for completion by year-end.

In hydrogen, Shenergy has adopted a "three-vertical, three-horizontal" strategy, covering production, storage, and application. Key projects include offshore wind-to-hydrogen research in Hainan and the development of a 300kW fuel cell stack by Hydrogen Age Tech, powering heavy-duty trucks with a range of 700–800 km. The group’s compact SMR hydrogen production units further support diverse application scenarios.

The summit underscored Shenergy Group’s multifaceted contributions to sustainability, reinforcing its leadership in green energy and finance.
