United Energy Group (00467) has announced its interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, posting a 33.7% year-on-year increase in revenue to HK$10.939 billion. Profit attributable to shareholders surged 28.7% to HK$953 million, with basic earnings per share reaching 3.71 HK cents.

During the reporting period, the group intensified its oil and gas exploration efforts, adhering to its strategy of value-driven development focused on discovering small yet highly productive oilfields. This approach yielded four commercial discoveries, with one located in Pakistan and three in Egypt.

Average daily working production for the six-month period stood at approximately 161,038 barrels of oil equivalent, marking a 14.0% decline from roughly 187,258 barrels in the prior-year period. Cumulative working production reached approximately 29.1 million barrels of oil equivalent, down 14.0% year-on-year from 33.9 million barrels. On an entitlement basis, average daily production slipped 8.7% to around 102,099 barrels of oil equivalent, compared with 111,762 barrels in the corresponding period last year. Cumulative entitlement output also fell 8.7% to about 18.5 million barrels, versus 20.2 million barrels previously.

The year-on-year decreases in both working and entitlement production primarily stemmed from production constraints imposed by Basra Oil Company on the group's Iraqi assets. In early June 2026, these restrictions were fully lifted, allowing production at the Iraq operations to recover to pre-conflict levels.
