Chip storage shares jumped in Hong Kong market. GigaDevice rose 9% while Montage Tech rose 8%. The rally was driven by fresh industry data pointing to a deepening supply-demand imbalance in the NOR Flash market.
According to the latest report from TrendForce, the NOR Flash market is undergoing its most significant structural supply-demand shift in nearly a decade. Products with 256Mb and above capacity are severely undersupplied, with second-half prices expected to surge another 90% to 110%. AI server demand per unit is three to five times that of traditional servers, further widening the supply gap.
As a core NOR Flash supplier, GIGADEVICE stands as a direct beneficiary of the pricing upcycle. However, the report also noted that part of the company's foundry capacity migration to overseas wafer fabs remains in a ramp-up phase, constraining effective output in the near term.
