Prosperous Future Reports H1 2026 Turnaround to HK$37.90 Million Profit on Surging Financial Services Revenue

Prosperous Future Holdings Limited announced a marked recovery for the six months ended 30 June 2026, reversing a HK$29.93 million loss in the prior-year period to a HK$37.90 million profit attributable to shareholders.

Total revenue climbed 20.40 % year on year to HK$317.67 million, driven by a 180.60 % surge in the financial services segment to HK$138.85 million. The division contributed HK$47.27 million in segment profit, compared with a HK$24.10 million loss in 1H 2025, supported by higher brokerage commissions, margin-financing income and growth in insurance and wealth management fees.

Food and beverage revenue declined 16.60 % to HK$178.27 million amid weak local consumption, reducing segment profit to HK$3.81 million. Properties holding generated HK$0.55 million revenue and a HK$1.02 million loss after a HK$0.70 million fair-value write-down.

Group gross profit more than doubled to HK$147.54 million, lifting the gross margin to 46.40 % from 26.20 %. Administrative expenses rose 11.50 % to HK$86.68 million, while selling and distribution costs were flat at HK$18.36 million. Finance costs fell to HK$0.12 million.

Total assets expanded to HK$9.52 billion, primarily reflecting HK$7.78 billion segregated fund assets linked to the life-insurance business. With corresponding investment-contract liabilities of the same amount, the gearing ratio increased to 86.50 % from 56.00 % at year-end 2025. Cash and bank balances stood at HK$229.62 million, down from HK$319.60 million, and the current ratio slipped to 1.0. The Group remains debt-free.

Capital expenditure was minimal at HK$0.07 million and no interim dividend was declared. Management reiterated its strategy of expanding comprehensive financial services while refining the food and beverage portfolio amid challenging domestic consumption trends.
