In September, the supply of essential consumer goods in the region was generally adequate. Influenced by cooler weather and the approach of the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays, prices of major agricultural products showed structural fluctuations, with the overall trend being "more increases than decreases." Among the 43 monitored agricultural products, the monthly average prices compared with the previous month showed 15 declines, 24 increases, and 4 unchanged.

Meat prices rose. Pork belly with skin was 13.51 yuan per jin (up 0.97%), and lean pork was 14.30 yuan per jin (up 2.00%); beef was 37.89 yuan per jin (up 3.84%), and mutton was 41.00 yuan per jin (up 0.71%); white-striped chicken was 8.08 yuan per jin (down 1.58%). In September, cooler weather, combined with the start of the school term and stockpiling for the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays, increased group purchasing and household consumption demand, causing pork and beef and mutton prices to rise steadily; chicken supply was ample, and prices fell slightly.

Egg prices were 5.68 yuan per jin (up 4.99%), mainly affected by the concentrated release of stockpiling demand for the two holidays, keeping prices at a high level.

Aquatic product prices showed mixed movements. Crucian carp was 12.58 yuan per jin (down 1.33%), grass carp was 10.89 yuan per jin (down 1.98%), silver carp was 5.95 yuan per jin (up 3.12%), carp was 8.33 yuan per jin (up 0.97%), and hairtail was 17.75 yuan per jin (unchanged). As the fishing ban ended, aquatic product market supply gradually recovered, and crucian carp and grass carp prices fell; silver carp and carp prices rose slightly due to localized demand support.

Vegetable prices were generally stable overall, with the monthly average price of 24 vegetables at 2.96 yuan per jin (up 0.34%). Some varieties showed significant increases: green peppers at 3.60 yuan per jin (up 18.03%), tomatoes at 2.61 yuan per jin (up 12.02%), Chinese cabbage at 1.37 yuan per jin (up 10.48%), and cucumbers at 3.51 yuan per jin (up 3.54%); some varieties declined: round lettuce at 2.63 yuan per jin (down 16.24%), scallions at 1.87 yuan per jin (down 13.82%), rapeseed at 2.48 yuan per jin (down 6.06%), celery at 1.90 yuan per jin (down 5.94%), and potatoes at 1.28 yuan per jin (down 4.48%). In September, autumn vegetables gradually came to market, and overall market supply was sufficient; however, with the approach of the two holidays, group purchasing and holiday stockpiling demand increased, combined with crop rotation for some varieties and tight supply, vegetable prices showed structural fluctuations, and the overall increase narrowed significantly compared with the previous month.

Fruit prices showed divergent trends. Apples were 4.80 yuan per jin (down 3.61%), bananas were 3.24 yuan per jin (down 0.31%), watermelons were 1.81 yuan per jin (up 2.84%), oranges were 5.51 yuan per jin (up 5.76%), and pears were 2.84 yuan per jin (up 2.90%). Autumn fruits gradually came to market, and apple and banana prices fell due to substitution by seasonal fruits; watermelons entered the late stage of market supply, and prices rebounded somewhat; orange prices continued to rise as inventory decreased; pear prices rose slightly due to new fruit arrivals and holiday demand.

It is expected that in October, after the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays, group purchasing and holiday stockpiling demand will weaken, and meat prices may show a stable-to-weak trend with localized slight declines. For eggs, as temperatures drop and egg production rates gradually recover, prices may pull back. Vegetable supply will further recover as large quantities of autumn vegetables come to market, and prices are expected to show a stable-to-declining trend. Aquatic product supply is sufficient, and prices still have room to decline. The fruit market will enter a period of abundant autumn varieties, with large quantities of new fruits coming to market, and prices will show seasonal fluctuations.
