UK-based military protective equipment manufacturer Avon Technologies Plc announced its financial results for the first half of fiscal year 2026 on Wednesday, reporting non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.56 and revenue of $160.8 million, an 8.1% year-over-year increase, surpassing market expectations.

Comprehensive growth was achieved across all key metrics in the first half. For the six months ended March 31, 2026, the company's revenue reached $160.8 million, up 6.8% compared to the same period last year. Adjusted operating profit rose to $24.4 million, marking a 39.4% increase year-over-year. The adjusted operating margin expanded significantly from 11.8% to 15.2%, entering the company's target range of 14% to 16%. Adjusted earnings per share stood at 56.4 cents, a 45.4% increase from the prior year.

On a statutory basis, pre-tax profit surged to $13.5 million from $3.1 million in the same period last year, with basic earnings per share at 35.0 cents. The company also declared an interim dividend of 8.1 cents per share, a 6.6% increase from the 7.6 cents per share paid in the previous year.

The company's Chief Executive Officer noted that the firm has achieved its medium-term targets for growth, margin, return on investment, and leverage 18 months ahead of schedule. This accomplishment is attributed to improvements in commercial and manufacturing execution, particularly enhanced production capacity and operational reliability at the Ohio facility.

Performance across the company's two main business units was mixed. The Avon Protection unit delivered solid revenue growth, driven by continued deliveries of orders from Ukraine and robust demand through U.S. emergency funding channels. The Team Wendy business experienced a softer first half due to the timing of follow-on orders and temporary weakness in U.S. commercial helmet demand, though a recovery in related demand is anticipated in the second half of the year or next year.

Management highlighted that the current number of active global conflict zones is at its highest level since World War II, with ongoing global conflicts and rising defense expenditures fueling demand for upgraded respiratory protection and ballistic helmet systems, particularly in NATO and U.S. defense markets.

The company reaffirmed its full-year guidance for fiscal 2026, expecting high single-digit revenue growth and an adjusted operating margin at the high end of the 14% to 16% target range. Confidence in achieving the second-half performance outlook is increasing.
