Recently, the Xuzhou Inspection and Testing Center in Jiangsu Province successfully obtained the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Testing Institution Assessment Certificate (CATL) issued by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. This marks the center's official achievement of full dual certification coverage, having established both the Certification of Inspection and Testing Institutions (CMA) and the Assessment of Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Testing Institutions (CATL). The center can now conduct testing services across three categories—pesticide residues, veterinary drug residues, and additives—covering 122 testing parameters, further strengthening the agricultural product quality and safety inspection and testing system in the city.

According to national regulations, only quality inspection institutions that have obtained certifications from market supervision departments (CMA) and assessments from agricultural and rural departments (CATL) are qualified to perform agricultural product quality and safety inspections. Previously, the center successfully obtained the CMA certification, and the recent attainment of the CATL certification fills a key gap in its agricultural product testing credentials, signaling that its testing capabilities fully meet national legal requirements.

With the implementation of the "CMA+CATL" dual certification, the center will play a significant role in several dimensions. Firstly, it will provide robust support for regulatory enforcement, enabling more efficient execution of agricultural product quality safety supervision and risk monitoring tasks, bolstered by precise data to strengthen regional agricultural product quality safety defenses. Secondly, it will help reduce costs and improve efficiency for business entities by localizing testing services, thereby shortening testing cycles and lowering costs, assisting local farmers and agricultural enterprises in timely grasping product quality information to enhance market competitiveness. Thirdly, it will lay a solid foundation for industry development by promoting standardized production processes across the city’s agricultural products, establishing a strong technical foundation for creating quality brands of Xuzhou’s characteristic agricultural products, and improving the quality and reputation of "Xuzhou produced" agricultural goods.

Moving forward, the Xuzhou Inspection and Testing Center will seize the important opportunity presented by the dual certification to closely align with the city’s agricultural product quality and safety regulatory work initiatives. It will continue to optimize testing processes and enhance the expertise of its technical team, ensuring accurate and efficient testing results. At the same time, it will focus on the new demands of agricultural industry development in the city, particularly in the domains of green fruits and vegetables and high-quality grain and oil—key areas of Xuzhou’s agricultural strength—while gradually expanding the scope of its testing business and enriching the types of testing projects undertaken. This will further enhance its role in providing technical support and service assurance, contributing significantly to the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, high-quality agricultural development, and the safeguarding of public health and safety.
