MetaOptics Ltd (9MT) said on Sep, 11 2026 that it has signed placement agreements to issue 2.685 million new ordinary shares at 0.3912 Singapore dollars each, securing gross proceeds of about 1.1 million Singapore dollars.

The company stated that the funds will be used to engage equipment partner Elsoft Research Bhd in Penang to complete the full automation of its 5-megapixel colour metalens camera module production line, moving the product toward large-scale commercialisation.

A portion of the proceeds will also finance the commercial launch of MetaPhone, a metalens-enabled 5G ultra-thin smartphone featuring a non-contact fingerprint sensor and a 5-megapixel metalens camera module without a rear camera bump.

Investors in the placement include new high-net-worth individuals, existing shareholders and a corporate strategic partner involved in equipment development.

MetaOptics added that it maintains a healthy cash position and is in early discussions with several U.S. deep-technology funds regarding potential financing for a planned 12-inch front-end semiconductor fabrication line in the United States.
