美国政府关门造成的“数据真空”正迫使市场重新评估美联储的政策前景。由于非农就业报告缺席，投资者可能会更加关注稍晚公布的ADP全国就业报告，该报告预计将显示私营部门就业人数温和增加5万人。
Capital.com高级分析师Kyle Rodda指出，通常情况下，政府关门对市场影响不大，例如2018-2019年持续一个多月的停摆期间华尔街股市甚至上涨。但他补充说，当前市场面临两个问题：一是关键就业数据的延迟发布，二是“美国总统特朗普威胁要永久性解雇工人，这可能将政府关门演变成一场小型的劳动力市场冲击”。
这种不确定性显著推高了市场对美联储降息的预期。期货市场行情显示，除了10月降息概率升至96%外，12月再次降息的可能性也达到了约74%。
