As the new year begins, Chengdu Eastern New Area has swiftly transitioned from holiday mode to full work resumption mode. By the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, numerous enterprises and projects had resumed operations, entering an all-out sprint to secure a strong start to the year and build momentum towards annual targets.

Enterprises are operating at full capacity. At Sichuan Tyre & Rubber (Group) Co., Ltd., the production lines are bustling with activity. Automated production lines are running at full speed, with workers skillfully operating machinery, resulting in a continuous output of tires. A company representative stated that formal work resumption began on the sixth day of the Lunar New Year (February 22). As a continuous production enterprise, the company had developed a detailed post-holiday restart plan before the Spring Festival. With favorable order prospects this year, restarting machinery two days early allows for increased production capacity.

Prior to resuming work, the company conducted thorough safety inspections, identified potential hazards, and performed strict safety verification on equipment in key processes. After inspection, acceptance, and trial runs by a professional team, the production lines quickly returned to normal operation. By the day after resumption (the seventh day of the Lunar New Year), output had recovered to approximately 40% of normal levels, achieving a daily production of 13,000 tires. The representative noted that the employee return rate currently exceeds 99%, with all production lines running at full capacity. Thanks to ample raw material reserves from before the holiday and the quick return of staff, the company's production capacity is rapidly increasing. Orders are scheduled through next month, and all teams are working diligently to maximize output as soon as possible.

Nearby, Sichuan Zhiyu Auto Parts Co., Ltd. has also resumed full production. The company officially restarted operations on the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, with over 260 employees immediately returning to their posts, quickly shifting from a holiday mindset to a production focus. Yang Mei, Deputy General Manager of Sales, explained that inside the production workshop, workers are systematically performing tasks such as wire cutting, crimping, pre-assembly, and assembly, with wiring harness products moving orderly along the production line. As a core supplier of wiring harness products for CNHTC Wangpai, the company made detailed preparations before the holiday. Production tasks were pre-assigned for each process, ensuring employees could start work immediately upon return without waiting for material allocation. This meticulous management approach enabled a seamless transition on the first day back, with production proceeding smoothly and orderly.

As of February 24, the company has restored full production capacity, manufacturing approximately 700 high-voltage wiring harnesses and about 80 sets of low-voltage vehicle wiring harnesses daily. Yang Mei mentioned that current production follows the pre-holiday schedule, with no urgent rush orders, allowing for a relatively steady pace. Production tasks for the first week back have been fully scheduled, with the first batch of orders expected to be delivered within the week.

Project construction is also advancing vigorously. Despite the lingering chill of early spring, the enthusiasm of construction workers remains undiminished. At the forefront of project development in Chengdu Eastern New Area, progress is accelerating. On February 24, the E-Workshop project (Phase I of the Smart Terminal Industrial Park), a key initiative in the new area, officially resumed construction at an accelerated pace. The construction site is a hive of activity, with towering cranes, roaring machinery, the sounds of steel reinforcement work, and workers in hard hats busy across various work areas.

A representative from the contractor, Jiantou Group, reported that the main structure of Lot 1 is complete, with secondary structure and interior decoration now underway. In the northern section of Lot 1, main structural work continues, focusing on steel reinforcement binding and concrete pouring. Earthwork excavation and pile foundation construction are progressing in Lot 2. To ensure a smooth post-holidary restart, construction schedules and material supplies, including steel and cement, were prepared in advance, allowing work to begin immediately upon the workers' return. The project department will coordinate personnel and machinery based on site progress to adhere to the schedule, aiming to complete the main structure topping-out of the northern section by the end of this year.

As a core platform for strengthening manufacturing and boosting industry in Chengdu Eastern New Area, the E-Workshop project focuses on smart terminals and smart industrial equipment. It aims to develop four key sectors: service robots, smart home devices, wearable technology, and industrial robots, seeking to build a complementary smart manufacturing industrial ecosystem. The project's investment promotion head reported satisfactory progress, with four companies already expressing intent to locate there, spanning industries such as aerospace, smart manufacturing, and pilot-scale production bases. Construction and investment promotion are being pursued simultaneously to ensure the facilities are ready for use upon completion. Lot 1 is expected to be completed by June this year, with Lot 2 scheduled for completion in February next year.

Urban development requires both industrial strength and quality of life. At the Dongmuli Phase II project site, which also resumed on February 24, workers have started the new year's construction in high gear. Over 80 construction personnel have returned to their posts and are conducting foundation work. Unlike the E-Workshop, this project is designed to enhance the new area's urban functions and living standards, aiming to create a new city landmark integrating commercial streets and cultural leisure facilities. The project manager stated that as more workers return, full staffing is expected by February 26, after which efforts will intensify to accelerate project progress. The project is slated for full completion by 2028, providing residents with a high-quality lifestyle and retail destination.

From workshops to construction sites, every corner of Chengdu Eastern New Area is gathering momentum for growth. The busy workers and humming machinery collectively form a powerful chorus signaling a strong start to the year, laying a promising foundation for high-quality development throughout the year.
