Japanese technology firm Sky Corporation recently announced the deployment of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) Private Cloud AI solution, successfully establishing a secure, on-premises AI development environment in just one month. This implementation, operating within a stringent local data governance framework, has achieved dual objectives: the secure utilization of confidential data and enhanced efficiency in AI-driven development.
As a company whose core business revolves around software development and system integration, Sky routinely handles substantial volumes of sensitive material, including client business data and system information. The firm established rigorous data governance policies early on and has consistently adhered to a cautious principle in its exploration of AI applications. Sky's President, Atsushi Ohura, stated that while AI applications are inseparable from data, the company's foremost priority is the secure handling of confidential information such as customer details and business data.
To concurrently meet the demands of security and AI application, Sky selected a comprehensive private cloud AI factory solution jointly developed by Hewlett Packard Enterprise and NVIDIA. The Hewlett Packard Enterprise Private Cloud AI integrates servers, storage, networking, accelerated computing, services, and software into an out-of-the-box, on-premises AI platform, significantly reducing the complexity of AI infrastructure design and deployment. This solution enables developers to freely utilize AI for processing sensitive data under strict security controls, while also achieving an exceptionally short deployment cycle of just one month.
Sky also adopted the pay-per-use model of Hewlett Packard Enterprise GreenLake Flex Solutions. This approach allows for controlling initial investment while providing the capability to flexibly scale according to demand, covering the entire lifecycle from deployment to operation.
Currently, Sky is advancing the integration of AI into nearly all of its internally developed systems. The company's next step involves planning to develop towards AI agents capable of autonomous task execution, aiming to further expand its commissioned development and system integration businesses and deepen AI application across the entire organization.
Koichi Mochizuki, Representative Executive Officer and President of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Japan, noted that in an era where AI application determines corporate competitiveness, deployment speed is critical. He emphasized that the true value of AI is only realized when both security and data utilization are fully achieved.
