"Through participating in this competition, I mastered many techniques for using artificial intelligence tools in live streaming sales. I hope to better cooperate with Chinese friends in the future, selling ASEAN specialties to the Chinese market and Chinese products to the ASEAN market through cross-border e-commerce," said Huang Weixiao, an Indonesian international student studying at Liuzhou City Vocational College in Guangxi, on August 30.

The 2025 ASEAN-oriented "AI + Cross-border E-commerce" Innovation Application Competition's university track finals concluded in Nanning, Guangxi from August 28-30. As one of the sub-tracks of the "AI" Empowering All Industries Super League, this competition was jointly organized by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Commerce Department, Nanning Municipal Government, China International Electronic Commerce Center, and other institutions. With the theme "AI Cross-border E-commerce Makes Global Shopping More Convenient and Better," the competition aimed to implement national digital economy planning and the "Digital Silk Road" initiative, accelerating the integration and application of artificial intelligence technology in the cross-border e-commerce sector.

The university track of this competition attracted 790 participating teams, including Huang Weixiao's team, with 45 teams from ASEAN countries. After intense competition, 20 elite teams including Huang Weixiao's advanced to the finals. The finals featured two major segments: "E-commerce Practice" and "Roadshow Presentation," comprehensively examining participating teams' innovation capabilities and practical skills, showcasing innovative achievements from the deep integration of artificial intelligence and cross-border e-commerce, injecting vocational education momentum into Guangxi's efforts to build an "AI + Cross-border E-commerce" cooperation highland facing ASEAN.

During the competition, Huang Weixiao's team designed marketing plans around ASEAN specialty products, demonstrating practical capabilities driven by both "AI empowerment + localized operations." Huang Weixiao stated that previously, inaccurate product selection, localization difficulties, and weak implementation were core pain points in cross-border e-commerce. Using artificial intelligence tools for market research, channel layout, and live streaming operations can precisely target core market demands, achieving accurate matching of "demand-product-audience" and increasing sales.

Lu Chunyang, Executive Vice Chairman of the National E-commerce Vocational Education Teaching Guidance Committee, commented in the competition summary that this competition successfully demonstrated young students' innovation and practical capabilities in the "AI + Cross-border E-commerce" field. The event reflected both deep industry-education integration and highlighted the application potential of combining artificial intelligence with cross-border e-commerce. He hoped that institutions would transform competition experience into teaching resources, continuously promoting digital skills talent development and helping more students realize their dreams and achieve their futures on the "Digital Silk Road."

Currently, Guangxi is seizing major opportunities such as the national implementation of the AI capability building universal plan, actively constructing a development path of "Northern Guangzhou R&D + Guangxi Integration + ASEAN Application." This competition aims to accelerate the integration and application of artificial intelligence technology in the cross-border e-commerce sector, highlighting Guangxi's hub role and sharing technology and experience in AI-empowered cross-border e-commerce development.

"We hope that through this university track competition, students will become familiar with cross-border e-commerce business processes, encouraging more students to use AI technology and engage in the cross-border e-commerce field, injecting new vitality into industry development and facilitating China-ASEAN cross-border trade channels," said Liu Jieying, President of Guangxi International Business Vocational College.
