Data from the Fliggy travel platform indicates that domestic travel bookings during the nine-day Spring Festival holiday reached a new high. Ticket orders increased by more than 80% year-on-year, while hotel room nights rose by 75%. The extended holiday further stimulated travel demand during the mid-holiday period, with bookings from the second to the fifth day of the lunar new year growing by approximately 30% compared to the same period last year.

In Liaoning Province, hotel room nights—a metric used to calculate room occupancy rates over a specific period—increased by 115% year-on-year during the holiday. Ticket orders grew by 96%, and packaged tour bookings rose by over 40%. Cities such as Shenyang were among the top performers in terms of growth.

This year's Spring Festival also saw the emergence of a new trend: using AI to book dining, flights, hotels, and movie tickets. AI-assisted travel service bookings experienced a significant surge, with Fliggy's AI-related orders increasing by more than 800% compared to the pre-holiday period. The most popular service was AI-booked attraction tickets, which saw a more than 24-fold increase. Popular destinations for these bookings included the Shenyang Northeast Asia International Ski Resort and the Shenyang Forest Zoo.

As the Milan Winter Olympics delivered exciting results during the holiday, domestic interest in snow and ice tourism remained strong. Fliggy data shows that bookings for winter sports and related activities more than doubled year-on-year, with Shenyang standing out as a favored skiing destination.

An increasing number of international tourists also chose to celebrate the Chinese New Year in China, immersing themselves in traditional culture. Inbound flight bookings during the holiday grew nearly tenfold compared to the previous year, with cities like Shenyang being popular as the first stop for many international visitors.
