On November 11, the Beijing Municipal Government Information Office held a press conference titled "Leadership Release: Tour of the Capital" to discuss the development of Pinggu as a high-quality, modern district serving the capital's growth. Officials from the Pinggu District Government provided updates and answered media questions.

When asked about Pinggu's progress in urban-rural spiritual civilization development and creating a "warm city," Gao Lei, member of the Pinggu District Party Committee and head of the Propaganda Department, responded: "Chinese modernization emphasizes the harmony of material and spiritual progress." In recent years, Pinggu has focused on improving living environments, fostering social ethics, enriching cultural life, and strengthening public welfare.

Key achievements include: 1. **Improved Living Environment**: Since 2021, Pinggu has addressed 168,000 environmental issues, eliminating persistent problems like illegal stalls and waste accumulation. Sixteen towns were recognized as "Capital Civilized Villages," with eight achieving national recognition. 2. **Enhanced Social Ethics**: In early 2025, Pinggu launched a campaign encouraging 460,000 residents to promote kindness and integrity. The district has honored 300 role models across industries and established volunteer teams to drive community initiatives. 3. **Cultural Enrichment**: A WeChat mini-program for "Pinggu New Era Civilization Practice" was launched in March 2025, hosting over 12,000 activities with 300,000 participants. Policies were introduced to boost cultural innovation. 4. **Public Welfare Initiatives**: Projects like elevator installations in old neighborhoods, elderly care services, and education upgrades—including new campuses for Beijing Youth Politics College and China Agricultural University—have enhanced residents' quality of life.

Moving forward, Pinggu will leverage the national civilized city campaign to further elevate civic values and social progress, aiming to set a benchmark for spiritual civilization in the capital.
