On March 24, A-shares opened higher but subsequently declined. The three major indices opened higher before retreating in early trading, with the ChiNext Index falling over 2%. The solar energy sector collectively adjusted, while oil and gas stocks, coal, and other sectors pulled back. Biotechnology and shipping sectors saw gains.

Hong Kong stocks also opened higher but closed lower, with the Hang Seng Tech Index turning negative and the Hang Seng Index narrowing its gains. Technology and internet stocks showed divergent performances. New consumption stocks rebounded, with LAOPU GOLD rising over 8%.

In the bond market, government bond futures mostly declined. In commodities, domestic commodity futures were mixed. Key market movements:

A-shares: As of writing, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.03%, the Shenzhen Component Index dropped 1.16%, and the ChiNext Index declined 2.30%.

Hong Kong stocks: As of writing, the Hang Seng Index rose 0.89%, while the Hang Seng Tech Index fell 0.10%.

Bond market: Government bond futures were mostly lower. As of writing, the 30-year main contract rose 0.12%, the 10-year main contract fell 0.03%, the 5-year main contract fell 0.02%, and the 2-year main contract fell 0.02%.

Commodities: Domestic commodity futures were mixed. As of writing, lithium carbonate rose over 6%, manganese silicon and palladium increased over 2%, while coking coal, stainless steel, Shanghai tin, platinum, and Shanghai copper rose 1%. Pulp, industrial silicon, iron ore, hot-rolled coil, and rebar also advanced. Shanghai aluminum, rubber, eggs, Shanghai nickel, soybean meal, Shanghai silver, glass, and rapeseed declined. Crude oil and fuel oil fell over 4%, and the containerized freight index and Shanghai gold dropped over 3%.

10:10 The green power concept remained strong, with computing-power synergy leading gains. Shaoneng Energy hit a limit-up, marking its fourth limit-up in five trading days. Hunan Development also reached a limit-up, while Huadian Liaoneng Energy approached a limit-up. Dise Industrial, Huayin Electric Power, and Li New Energy followed with gains.

Recent developments indicate that the National Data Bureau, along with relevant departments, will vigorously promote computing-power synergy projects. The goal is to ensure that green electricity accounts for over 80% of newly built computing facilities in hub nodes, maximizing the supportive role of green power.

10:05 Oil and gas stocks accelerated their decline after the market opened. Heshun Petroleum fell over 7%, Intercontinental Oil & Gas dropped nearly 7%, while PetroChina, Sinopec, and CNOOC all declined over 2%.

10:03 The memory chip concept fluctuated and declined during the session. Puya Semiconductor fell over 10%, with Taisol Instruments, GigaDevice, Netac Technology, Ingenic Semiconductor, and Jiangbolong following the downturn.

The construction of new-domain combat capabilities will accelerate the upgrade of advanced weaponry, ushering in a new development period for military equipment.

09:50 The CPO concept saw a volatile recovery in early trading. Tengjing Technology rose over 10%, hitting a record high. Raisecom, ZLKCORE, DKL Instruments, Kechuan Technology, and Dongtian Microelectronics followed with gains.

Recent developments from the 2026 Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition indicate that major optical communication manufacturers emphasized expansion plans for core optical module components and materials. Lumentum stated that by the end of 2026, EML production capacity will increase over 50% compared to 2025 levels.

09:43 The ChiNext Index plunged over 1%, after having risen over 1% earlier. CPO and solar energy concept stocks led the decline. Oil and gas, coal, and chemical sectors were among the top decliners. Nearly 1,200 stocks fell across the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing exchanges.
