16 Jul

China's Ministry of Finance will issue 6 billion yuan worth of RMB-denominated treasury bonds in Macau on July 16. This marks the fourth consecutive year of such issuances by the central government in Macau and represents the first RMB treasury bonds issued in the region following the integration of bond market infrastructure between Hong Kong and Macau.

The current issuance sets a historical record in scale for RMB treasury bonds sold in Macau while further optimizing the maturity structure. This development is significant for improving the regular issuance mechanism and supports the enhancement of Macau's bond market infrastructure. It substantially boosts international market attractiveness and demonstrates the central government's sustained commitment to accelerating the cultivation of Macau's bond market and promoting appropriate economic diversification.
