Data security firm Rubrik Inc. has announced the launch of the Rubrik AI platform at its Rubrik FORWARD event, marking its official transition into an AI agent company. Rubrik Inc. CEO Bipul Sinha stated that the company's "agentic cyber resilience" solution is designed to address risks from both external AI attacks and the internal deployment of agents.
The Rubrik AI platform introduces an "agent-first experience" across its entire product portfolio, capable of operating autonomously on the Rubrik Security Cloud and the new Rubrik Agent Cloud. This system adapts to an organization's structure and security threat landscape, executing operations at machine speed. Built-in "agent guardrail" controls ensure all autonomous actions are auditable, traceable, and reversible.
Central to this launch is an AI teammate named "Agentic Ruby," an evolution from the previous generative AI assistant. Ruby can not only answer questions but also understand goals and context within user-defined policies and approvals, performing analysis, making recommendations, and, with permission, autonomously executing actions. For instance, when a backup fails, Ruby can automatically conduct root cause analysis and suggest fixes; during a security incident, it can help formulate a recovery plan. Multi-step recovery processes that previously took weeks can now be completed in minutes.
Rubrik Inc. Chief Product Officer Anneka Gupta highlighted that AI agents are already autonomously writing, pushing, and deploying code, yet enterprise security infrastructure still operates under the assumption that "a human is always in the loop," creating significant risk. To address this, Rubrik Inc. introduced the Rubrik Agent Cloud, which provides monitoring, governance, and "agent rollback" capabilities.
Rubrik Inc. also unveiled the Rubrik Agent Cloud for Anthropic's Claude Code and an autonomous business recovery solution for cloud applications. Furthermore, six major global system integrators—Cognizant, Deloitte, HCLTech, NTT Data, and Wipro—have joined Rubrik's "Hourglass Program" to deploy the platform for their enterprise clients. Data from Rubrik Zero Labs indicates that 86% of cybersecurity leaders expect AI agents to surpass their organization's existing security capabilities within the next year.
