Agricultural Wholesale Price Index Edges Up Slightly on September 14

On September 14, the "Agricultural Product Wholesale Price 200 Index" stood at 117.25, marking a modest increase of 0.04 points compared to the previous Friday, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

The "Vegetable Basket" product wholesale price index reached 118.07, up 0.02 points from last Friday. As of 2:00 PM today, the national average wholesale price for pork was 16.42 yuan per kilogram, reflecting a 1.4% rise from the prior Friday.

Beef prices averaged 70.65 yuan per kilogram, up 0.6%, while mutton held steady at 65.91 yuan per kilogram. Eggs saw a 0.5% increase to 11.06 yuan per kilogram, and white-striped chicken climbed 2.3% to 17.35 yuan per kilogram.

Among the 28 key monitored vegetables, the average price dipped 0.2% to 4.68 yuan per kilogram. In contrast, the six major fruits tracked posted a 1.4% gain, averaging 6.64 yuan per kilogram.

In the aquatic sector, crucian carp rose 1.3% to 20.09 yuan per kilogram, carp increased 2.3% to 14.08 yuan, silver carp advanced 1.5% to 10.30 yuan, and large hairtail jumped 3.1% to 41.66 yuan per kilogram.

Across the 46 monitored agricultural products at domestic fresh markets, the top five price gainers compared to last Friday were garlic (up 3.7%), pineapple (up 3.6%), large hairtail (up 3.1%), tomatoes (up 2.3%), and white-striped chicken (up 2.3%). Conversely, the steepest declines were seen in cauliflower (down 3.3%), rape (down 3.2%), Chinese cabbage (down 3.2%), watermelon (down 3.0%), and asparagus lettuce (down 2.7%).
