Stock Track | Century Aluminum Soars 7.83% in Pre-Market as Iran Strikes Spark Aluminum Supply Fears

Stock Track
Mar 30

Century Aluminum's stock experienced a significant pre-market surge, rising 7.83%. This sharp upward movement highlights the stock's sensitivity to developments in the underlying commodity market.

The rally was driven by a sharp increase in aluminum prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME), which rose approximately 5-6%. This price jump followed reports of Iranian missile and drone strikes over the weekend, which caused significant damage to the Al Taweelah production site of major producer Emirates Global Aluminium in the United Arab Emirates.

The attack has immediately raised concerns over potential disruptions to aluminum supply from a key producing region, boosting the shares of U.S.-based producers like Century Aluminum as traders anticipate higher metal prices.
