Azenta's stock plummeted 9.63% intraday following the release of its disappointing fiscal second-quarter results and a downward revision to its full-year outlook.

The life sciences solutions company reported quarterly earnings of $0.08 per share, missing analyst estimates by 33%, and sales of $145 million, falling short of expectations. More critically, the company's net loss widened significantly to $160.8 million, driven in part by a substantial $149.1 million non-cash goodwill impairment charge. Adjusted EBITDA also fell 36% year-over-year.

Management cited execution gaps and a more cautious demand environment, particularly in North America, as key factors behind the weak performance. The company cut its fiscal 2026 revenue guidance and extended its long-range strategic plan timeline to 2029 from 2028, signaling a slower path to recovery than previously anticipated.
